Let's face it: PC runs slow and many believe that it's a normal thing to see your computer displaying an hourglass for as long as minutes, and a lot more believe it's too complicated to find out why. Believe it or not, you don't have to be a techie or a geek to figure this out. You can fix it yourself right now without even wasting any money, because the solution is right in front of your screen: your big buddy the Windows, and some of its helpful services. That's who, and here's how:

First, get rid of spam. Oftentimes, PC runs slow because there is too much junk in your computer. Do these little errands from now on to save up some disk space: Empty the recycle bin, delete temporary Internet files and cookies, delete page history, and clear the cache. Refrain from storing garbage inside, and always keep things clean. Getting extra disk space optimizes computer efficiency and prevents system errors that are due to disorganized or full hard disk.

Second, remove the unwanted. Review your long list of installed programs regularly, because PC runs slow due to unnecessary applications that you might still be keeping. If you don't need them anymore, don't let them congest your disk. Uninstall these unimportant services right away. You will see a complete list of these in the 'Add or Remove Programs' icon in your Control Panel. Simply click on the unwanted program, and hit the 'Remove' button. You will notice that the uninstalled file is removed from the list. Also check the 'Program Files' in your local disk if the corresponding folder name is deleted, too. Optimizing your disk space gives your computer a fairer chance to run faster again.

Next, eliminate the redundant. If you have plenty of antivirus-all of them running in the background at the same time, don't be surprised that your PC runs slow even after how many times you reboot your system. Same thing applies to sound drivers, media players and photo applications. If they all sound the same, and for sure they function the same-one way or another-delete the unused ones and save disk space.

Then, reorganize your disk. After deleting the unnecessary files, it's time to give your computer a quick refresh. Let your big buddy, the Windows, do the rest of the job. Go to 'System Tools' and choose 'Disk Defragmenter'. Defragging your system allows you to reorganize scattered files that account for the slow performance of your computer. PC runs slow and you need to reassemble disorganized disk space in order to gain a little more speed and keep your hard disk neat-looking.

Finally, keep your PC in good shape. Always check heat sink, CPU fan, motherboard, RAM and video cards regularly. Your PC runs slow and you think it's the software issue, but it could also be due to overheating or bad hard disk. The problem might be with the hardware after all. Remove dust and dirt and always keep your computer in a clean, dry and well-ventilated area. That is, free from pets or pests. Keeping a regular checkup in both the software and the hardware makes troubleshooting easier, and a guaranteed fairer, faster computer like never before.

It is always very useful to gather all the required information about the latest appliances and then develop the skill of using them. Every division of knowledge or the field of human activity has its own specific conditions. Today there are several appliances which we do not know exactly because we do not come across them very often or because we hardly ever use them in our daily lives. But we have to understand the benefits of the concealed cameras, the hidden cameras, the spy cams and many more cameras. These equipments not only give us pleasure in suing them but also help us to protect our possessions and environments with an encouraging mind-set. Once we start using these cameras, then we will always want to gather more information about them so that we can make good use of them whenever we want to.

The foundation of all the works are laid with the motive that people can make use of the equipments for comforts and with a good approach. Surveillance is such an activity which is made of several actions which are put together in particular equipment and that equipment is called the spy cam or the hidden camera. Every camera which can be used for surveillance purpose or any other good reason has a special arrangement for capturing clear images. It means that all the actions and images are assembled and put together in this unique camera. The progress of every work or organization has to be given extra importance. Making use of the hidden cameras or the CCTV cameras and the spy cameras can reduce our work load to some extent.

In our day to day life we attend functions, ceremonies and meetings. On such occasions we meet many people whom we know but who do not know each other. Nowadays when such gatherings are planned, then safe and secure and quite suitable environments are also taken into consideration. The host tries to create a wonderful atmosphere for the guests and keeps into acquaintance that the whole thing is arranged properly for the comforts of the guests. In such environments usually the hidden cameras or the CCTV cameras can be arranged to keep a cautious watch on every act of our guests and the offenders if any so that preventative measures can be taken if anything wrong goes in the party. This way, the guests as well as the host can enjoy the party together without any distractions and even the evil deeds of any one else will be at whey. Moreover the host can even put a lot of focus on his guests and enjoy the party with them with an open mind. He has to promote new ideas when he is arranging for a big party and even he can walk around, look into and analysis everything every easily. The host will be in an energetic mood and he will be confident about what he has done for the safety of his guests. This can be an inventory experiment for all the others.

Today we all have to be very observant, sensibly judicious, keen and understanding, smart and sharp and we also have to be aware of the opportunities which we can make use to give comfort to our selves. Cameras like the hidden cameras, the spy cameras, the CCTV cameras, the CCD cameras, the CID cameras are some of the latest and wonderful devices which are given recognition in the market just a few years ago. It is not that there were no cameras in the past, but in those days there were simply designed cameras which were very occasionally used either by the photographers or a few people who were very fond of photography and had a habit or rather a hobby to collect various pictures of different occasions and places. They were used very rarely. But today's cameras are exceptionally superb and they are designed not only for regular use for capturing mere images for hobby reasons but in fact they are designed in such a way that every individual can use them for surveillance reasons and can very conveniently take care of his/her own commercial and residential locations. Life has in fact become very easy for us than it had ever been for our ancestors who could never dream about it.

Once I had been to India to attend one of my friend's wedding. When we were in London last year we had met in the university and we had become good friends. Once our education was over we had to depart and then we had promised each other that we would again meet before we get married. Then one day I got an invitation from her side that she was getting married and that I had to attend her wedding. I was very much excited because I really wanted to attend it because I was very fond of all the rituals and the traditions which the Indian weddings go through. I made up my mind that I will visit India to attend her wedding. I did not want to miss a single event and even wanted it to enjoy even after the wedding was over. So for this I bought a camera which I could easily carry along with me to India so that I could capture each and every event with excitement. I bought a Mini spy camera because I could later use this camera for surveillance reasons also. After going through all the details of the Mini spy camera I found that this camera was the excellent type of equipment which I wanted to buy. This camera is so small that it is simply 3 inches lengthy and ½ an inch in depth wise. This is 3 in 1 video recorder type of camera with a factual point of digital camcorder. With the help of the USB device we can recharge the battery without any effort. So I was very happy that I had an opportunity to visit India as well as I was having such an excellent camera so that I could easily capture whatever I wanted to. At last I reached India and we both were very happy that we once again met and she was happier because I had fulfilled my promise that I would attend her wedding. Each and every event of Indian tradition was captured in my camera with clarity and after a few days I went back to my house and very frequently would go through all the proceedings which were captured in my camera and then I even started using this beautiful camera for surveillance process in my office also.

GPS portable navigation systems have become extremely popular in recent years. As with any electronic device, when making a purchasing decision about which brand or model to buy, one needs to understand the feature sets being offered and decide which features he or she needs and which they want to pay for.

Here is a list of many commonly available features on different brands of GPS navigation portable systems:

Widescreen- 4.3 inch or larger screen measured diagonally (vs. a standard 3.5 inch screen)

Includes Europe Maps- Comes loaded with both North American as well as maps of Europe.

Speaks street names- Announces names of streets and exits, for example, "Turn right on Main St." instead of "Turn right in 500 ft".

Speech Recognition- Operates the gps device with spoken commands rather than having to enter the information by touching the screen.

Lane assist- Realistically displays road signs and junctions along your route and shows arrows that indicate the proper lane for navigation.

FM Traffic Compatible- Add-on an optional FM receiver and subscription to avoid traffic congestion.

FM Traffic Included- Avoid traffic congestion with and included FM traffic receiver

MSN Direct Compatible- You can add an optional receiver and subscription to MSN Direct to get traffic, weather, gas prices, stock quotes, news, and more.

MSN Direct Included- Receive MSN Direct content including traffic, weather, gas prices, stock quotes, news, and more with the included receiver.

Bluetooth®- Connect to your phone to make and receive hands-free calls

MP3 Player- Built in MP3 Player

Emergency Locator- An emergency locator that shows your coordinates, nearest address, and closest hospitals, police and fuel stations

Slideshow Viewer-

Multi-mode Function- Provides driving, walking, bicycling and boating modes such that the device can be used for any of these modes of travel.

Multiple point routing- Sorts multiple destinations to determine an efficient route for deliveries and sales calls.

If you are a more or less "normal" driver who would only use your GPS portable navigation system occasionally, either from home or while on travel, you certainly don't need all the bells and whistles mentioned above. A couple of things should be noted for this type of driver, however. One should certainly consider purchasing a unit with the "speaks street names" feature. You have much more certainty when you know you are turning onto the correct street than if you are not sure of that, and in addition you don't have to be continually looking at the odometer. Another consideration this author would suggest is to purchase a unit with at least a 4.3 inch screen rather than the current standard 3.5 inch screen. You can see the screen much more easily, and more importantly, the buttons for making address entries, for example, are larger. I found that the smaller buttons on the 3.5 inch screen were too small. I would think I was pressing one button only to find that the wrong letter showed up on the screen. For example, I wanted to push the letter "u", and "v" , which was next to "u", came up on the screen. So this obviously had to be corrected. I would definitely suggest that these two features are worth the extra money. The speech recognition feature would be nice to have, but this almost immediately puts you into the very high end systems with prices in the $600 and up range. Entering addresses or other destinations by touch screen is really pretty easy and quick once one gets the hang of it.

If you drive long distances often, or if you are a professional delivery person who needs to choose the most efficient routes to make your deliveries, obviously the more advanced features on the list might be useful for you. Certainly if you might be using your gps navigation portable system in Europe, you would want to consider purchasing a unit that has Europe maps loaded as well.

As for updating maps, this is normally necessary only every 3-4 years or so. The major brands usually release official updates approximately once a year, and there is a cost to obtain these new maps. Of course new neighborhoods and new roads are included, and new points of interest, like gas stations or restaurants are also updated. These don't change that much from year to year, so one can afford to wait a while before purchasing updated maps for your gps portable navigation system.

Here is something I learnt about making some cash online

Aah, is this the Holy Grail? And just how do you make money online?

It is not as easy as people make out. Most experts only reveal so much of the plan because they have something else to sell you to keep you going.

Have you ever attended a seminar or a workshop to do with internet marketing and making money with the internet? If you have then this article might not be of any interest to you, so I do apologise in advance, but if you have never been to one before, let me try and explain from my experience.

I did have some contact with an internet marketer some years ago, about nine I think, although I did not have a clue what one was. He told me he was in publishing and did I have an area of expertise that I thought I could write a monthly article about.

I thought I did as I was involved in MOT testing vehicles and I thought drivers would want to know about what was involved as the majority of vehicle owners did not have a clue about what was involved, then again why would they?

I reckoned my experience as a mechanic would be useful. I did not have a product that the market wanted. His explanation was simply that people buy what they want and not what they need, even if it was a good product. I did not understand the difference at the time.

One day some years later I received an invitation from him about making money from information products. I now realise I was just a name on a list he was building.

He had been building a list of potential customers and I was on it. Did it work? Yes, I was hooked in by the letter and the offer. I know now it to be called a sales page and the art is known as copywriting.

I had just bough my first product that would show me how to make money from the internet and also with mail shots. Was I now ready for earning some money from the internet?

Well not quite because like a lot of things out there showing how profitable the internet can be, there was not enough step by step guidance. We are all at different levels.

People sometimes overestimate what we do know.

I think it boils down to three things we need to understand firstly about the way money is made online and to a large extent offline.

Theses three things are:

1. Get a website and let people advertise on your site. For example if you have a site on sports equipment, then you could let manufacturers advertise in much the same way as you see in a paper or magazine ie a small box or a picture ad. You decide how much to charge.

Alternatively you could let one of the internet search engine companies just place adverts on your site. You do not get to set your rates.........mmmmmm! Oh, and you only get paid if someone actually clicks on an advert.

2. Earn some money online by selling a product or service that belongs to someone else. This method of selling is refered to as affiliate marketing. You advertise for them to get a customer, and you put the buyer in contact with the seller and earn a fee or commission when they buy. You pay your own advertising costs and as long as the commission is greater than the advertising costs, then you make some money online.

You do not need to speak to anyone or meet them. So if you are shy you can sell without risking that shyness.

3. You can make money on the internet also by selling something you own. Now this can be a service you offer as part of your job. It could be by selling goods you have bought to sell on eg an antiques dealer.

Better still, you could create a product or have someone do it for you to sell online yourself and you get to keep all the money you make online. Even better, you could now have other people sell your product and not pay them unless they make a sale. That sounds cool.

I believe that is the starting point we need to understand about making an income online, especially if you are a newbie.

I hope this is a help to what might be the three options open to us.

Digital cameras, also known as filmless cameras are one of the most intelligent inventions of late. Because before digital cameras, even the most high end cameras were chemical process dependent for photo printout.

But in digital camera, images are recorded electronically by an inbuilt computer. Though initially they were beyond the reach of normal people due to price factor, now they are available in within an affordable range.

Battery is an important component of any digital camera. In fact the longevity of your digital camera depends upon the performance of its battery. First thing to remember is never go in for alkaline AA batteries as they have shorter life span. Always opt for rechargeable batteries called as NiMH. Although they are a bit costly as compared to alkaline AA digital camera batteries, but they can be reused for a long time.

If you are going out on a long trip, it is a good idea to take extra rechargeable batteries. You never know when they will come handy as digital cameras consume power from batteries quickly even if you use rechargeable ones.

While going on a trip, it is also advisable to take battery charger along with you as digital camera batteries may lose their charge over time. Having a charger is helpful especially if u r novice in digital camera photography for you tend to consume more batteries while clicking the perfect shot. Here are some other helpful tips to increase the longevity of your digital camera batteries.

It is always advisable to remove the batteries when the digital camera is not in use. This simple precaution can ensure the longevity of batteries.

Never let your digital camera batteries get wet as water can corrode the batteries and eventually damage them.

You should have prior knowledge about this fact that, if you are using MicroDrive media these miniature hard drives may take up quite more power than Compact Flash cards and hence extra rechargeable batteries are a must.

Turn off your digital camera when not in use. If you are in a situation where you must snap pictures quickly, this may not be a wise suggestion, but if you are in no hurry and can afford a couple of seconds before snapping a still subject, by all means, conserve your digital camera`s energy.

You do not need to stop and take a look after taking photo every time as by doing this does use up your digital camera`s battery power. However, once in a while, it is good to check if your exposure, lightening is perfect or not.

Now-a-days, many digital cameras come with regular viewfinder and an LCD viewfinder facility. While the digital LCD viewfinder has better resolution, it can drain battery power. Turn it off when applicable and use your regular viewfinder for taking pictures.

Try to keep your image playback to a minimum as they can drain out the battery power.

While replacing batteries in a digital camera, it is recommended that their mAh values match. The `mAh` stands for Milliamp Hour is a technical term used while describing how much power a particular battery will hold. It might be possible that one lesser mAh battery will drain before the others, resulting extra strain on the remaining batteries.

For better performance, do check in for an add-on power pack that uses AA NiMH batteries in your digital cameras.

When your AA NiMH batteries stopped accepting a charge, do not throw away them for they are recyclable. Contact your battery manufacturer or local recycling agency to see if these dead batteries can be recycled.

Always make sure to insert similar batteries into your digital camera battery charger. Miss-match set of batteries can result in damaging the batteries or the charger, and in extreme case, a fire too can ensue.

Taking proper care of your digital camera batteries ensures optimum and long lasting performance. Hope the above tips will come handy for the consumers of digital cameras.

An autodialer is a computer program that specifically allows a large number of phone calls to be made to a selected list of preprogrammed phone numbers. The recipients of the phone calls can then listen to a personalized prerecorded message and may be given choices to be connected to a live person or select other choices that will allow them to get more information based on their selection. One way to look at it is kind of like a reverse answering machine, except it has many more features and takes a proactive role in helping a business to grow.

What types of businesses can benefit from an autodialer?

Almost any type of business can receive benefits from using an autodialer program. Any business or organization from telemarketing to mortgage brokers to mom and pop operations, their salespeople can qualify their leads without ever lifting a finger. Only customers who are truly interested in their products or services will ever reach them on the phone which means a decrease in stress and an increase in productivity. Other business including non-profit organizations such as churches or charities as well as election campaigns can also benefit. Thousands of potential donors can be reached with a heartfelt message and can be directed to volunteers who can take their pledge or can be given information about a politician's platform that may affect their voting decision. Doctor's offices can remind patients of their appointments while office personnel are free to service patients and keep records in order. These are just a few examples and the possibilities are almost endless.

What features should you look for in an autodialer?

You will want to find an autodialer that can be used with either landlines or VoIP services such as Skype. This allows flexibility in choosing your service provider and the option to switch to a more affordable service. You will also want an autodialer that is flexible and will allow you many options including recording numerous personal messages, having multiple selections for the call recipient such as listening to more information or being transferred to a live person. An autodialer that can distinguish between a live voice and an answering machine is also a great benefit and will allow you to tailor your message to the appropriate circumstance. Another good feature is the ability to automatically redial for busy numbers and even reschedule calls that are not answered or completed. This helps to ensure you are reaching the maximum number of customers.

Summary

An autodialer is a great tool for almost any business. From sales offices to doctor's offices, the ability to spend less time on the phone and more time being productive is a great way to save time and money. The ambitions of Lenovo are clear, create the best ultraportable in the market. Building on the prestigious ThinkPad family, the X300 is an impressive computer which does not compromise ultraportable and functionalities.

Lenovo X300 versus MacBook Air. The MacBook Air is definitively a beautiful design (some will say sexy) and is ultra thin and light. In order to look that way, the Mac book has made some sacrifices in ways of functionalities, battery life and power. X 300 has a more conventional (old fashion) look, thicker and a bit heavier but it gains in functionality, power, has a DVD burner and yet has the dimensions and weight of an ultraportable. To complete the comparison The MacBook Air is beautiful extra light, trendy and will satisfy light users; the X300 looks conventional, is powerful and functional and will satisfy medium and some heavy users.

ThinkPad style
At first look, you can see a lot of similarities from previous generation of ThinkPads. The lines are straight (most competitors have rounded their laptops) and the min-joystick is still there. The keyboard has a the usual soft touch and comes with a retro light if needed. The finish is clean, robust, only the screen maybe sensitive to scratches.

Inside the X300

The processor used for the X300 laptop is new, it is a Core two duo L7100 this processor has an ultra compact chip similar to MacBook Air; it has a speed of 1.2 GHz and belong to the family of the Intel-based low voltage processors. The L7100 runs at 800 MHz and has 4 Mo of cash memory. This laptop comes with 2 GB of RAM which is enough to run Vista. That ThinkPad works very well in most situations and unless you are a graphic artist, big database user or heaver gamer, you will be very happy with its performances.

Lenovo X300 equipment

Despite its small size, The X300 focuses on maximum integration. No wasted space here, it comes with a DVD burner, you will also find three USB and one Ethernet connection. The wireless is equally well represented with Bluetooth 2.0 WiFi, 802.11 and 3G HSDPA. This one is also in charge of the video output for VGA.

Screen for professional

With a 13.3 inches the screen is big enough to view wide spreadsheet such as Excel, it is built up with a high quality definition of 1440 by 900 pixels. The graphic card is the classic Intel GMA X3100 with 368 Mo of shared memory.

Disappointing autonomy

During a testing the laptop battery never lasted more than 2 hours and 30 minutes, which is a bit disappointing with the SSD, LED screen and low-voltage processor. After we "played" with the numerous internal management tools we were able to extend the autonomy to 4 hours with light use such as Word. Additionally, the DVD can be replaced by an additional 3 cell battery.

Conclusion

All in all, a ThinkPad X300 is a wonderful ultraportable, light, compact and robust. Professional travelers will be very happy to use that notebook. There is a price for excellence and that price is $3,000. Final note, the X300 comes with three years manufacturer warranty.

Notebook batteries are designed specifically for different notebooks brand as well as models. Today notebooks are powered by lithium ion batteries. Lithium ion batteries are lighter, have a better power-to-weight ratio, can hold a charge longer, have a longer usable life, and do not have the memory effect to fail prematurely.

Lithium ion batteries are also inexpensive to manufacture as compared to the earlier generation of nickel metal hydride batteries. The only shortcoming about lithium ion batteries is as they contain lithium salt dissolved in a highly flammable solvent, there are chances of overhead which can result in short-circuits or even blow up in flames.

It is a common fact that all notebook batteries have provision for limited time of power supply. A good bargain is to check the battery power while buying a notebook. Here is one instant tip to optimize the battery settings in accordance with the energy saving mode of your notebook. These settings will put the hard disk into sleep mode whenever the workload is less and it will reduce the notebook microprocessor performance in order to maximize its battery life.

From the system preferences mode of your notebook, select view menu, then choose energy saver option from view menu. Right click on show details option and choose battery power from the pop-up menu. Finally choose longest battery life from the energy settings pop-up menu.
Tips to optimise your notebook batteries are described in the following:

It is better to keep your notebook on standby mode when not in use for certain amount of time. Standby mode ensures all current info is saved in RAM with minimum consumption of battery power.

It is a good investment to add more memory to your notebook as it saves battery power by reducing Windows' dependence on the virtual memory swap file on your hard disk.

Try to set the screen brightness of the LCD panel of your notebook to the lowest comfortable level as very bright screen tends to consume more power from your battery.

Charge your notebook battery frequently with a battery charger or AC adapter. It is very important to clean your battery's metal contacts every couple of months to make it dust free. You can use a cloth moistened with rubbing alcohol to clean your notebook battery.

Turn of the unused features and technologies of your notebook which are not frequently usable. For example, it is better to eject the CD or DVD when you are not using them as the optical drive has the tendency of reading CD or DVD it finds very often and this process consume extra battery power.

Similarly it is better to get rid of the outer peripherals such as printers or digital cameras as they can still draw power from your notebook battery even when they are not used.

Turning off or at least disabling the PC Cards, FireWire devices and USB when not in use also saves battery power. In fact, disabling modem, network cards and USB ports consumes less battery power even when they are on. These devices are easily disabled in device manager.

To save power, it is good idea to turn off the AirPort, Wi-Fi, IR radios and Bluetooth option when it is not required to use. Virus scan should be set only during the time you are usually plugged in as full-disk virus check by the hard drive and CPU consumes additional power from battery.

Opt for the power console applet to customize the power profiles on your notebook. Do not worry in case your notebook does not have power console applet option for most of the operating systems (starting from windows 98) have Power Options utility in Control Panel.

You can use power saver option of your operating system to adjust the CPU processing power. Optimum CPU processes consume additional battery power and hence should be avoided if not required. Stop the auto start applications on your notebook, so that your notebook`s CPU can be stopped from doing unnecessary work.

With the above mentioned handy tips, you can truly increase the battery performance of your notebook.

60% of AOL users in America do not know that active Spyware and malware is running rampant on the networks and infecting their systems. Over 90% of the World's PC users have no clue that there is software running on their computers that slowly eats away at system resources, steals valuable information and violates their privacy. Don't be a statistic - from just 3 simple tips on detecting Spyware and how to fix it, you can set yourself apart from the rest.

Tip # 1

Spyware rarely work alone, they come in clotted groups, usually from different or sometimes a similar source online. When they enter a computer system, the code works in such a way that they start to take over certain bits of the computer and 'tells' the computer to do things - usually without your knowledge. Anything from sending out emails, taking your particulars and passwords or resetting the system configuration - it leads to system degradation and a violation of your privacy as a PC user. You can easily detect Spyware when you notice things like your disk space slowly eroding away day by day, a degradation in your computer's performance, unwanted pop-ups ads, internet connectivity problems and strange messages that say 'you are already logged into another computer'. These are the textbook hallmarks that the computer has been invaded by adware and Spyware.

Tip # 2

Fixing it is a hazy ground between a simple operation and a complex one. Usually, tracking down the rogue programme and deleting it is enough to solve your Spyware problems, but if the issue goes deeper - for instance into the boot memory or even damaging the registry, then sometimes a cleanup of the entire computer would then be needed. I have heard of people booting up in Windows 'safe mode' to root out the Spyware, because sometimes traditional deletion doesn't work. This is also a viable way to clean up your computer - I mean, no body wants to go through the hassle of having to backup all the data, reinstall Windows and set up everything from scratch.

Tip # 3

Using a good antivirus program will also help. As major companies have diversified their operations like Norton and McAfee, a host of free online antivirus programs can now be found online, that can also help you scan and remove Spyware. Spyware can also include malware - and malware has been known to contain 'worms' and Trojan viruses piggybacking on their code. Anti-virus programmes are a good front-line defence against these harmful programs.

I would recommend that everyone complements the use of their anti-virus with a good Spyware cleaner programme. There are a variety of programmes out there from which to choose on the Internet and they do a more focused and defined task of rooting out and wiping these malicious programmes from your system. Think of them as sweeping out the corners that anti-virus programmes sometimes cannot reach. Spyware cleaners have a lot going for them - they are easy to use, small in size and a lot of them are complimentary or shareware. No hassle in payments and filling forms; the solution is just a few clicks away. With those 3 simple tips on detecting Spyware and how to fix it, I hope you all have a great and safer time surfing online.

This article will approach this subject differently. Sort of like the 'Art of War' against Spyware, I will stress that the best way to get rid of Spyware is to never have them get into your system in the first place. It all begins with you and how much you want to protect your computer from being invaded in the worst possible way - through software programs and malicious viruses designed by pirates and criminals to destroy your system. The best offence is a good defence, and a good defence will show you how to get rid of Spyware forever.

The first line of defence is your surfing experience. Make sure that surfing is safe for you and anybody else using the desktop. Microsoft has put in place quite a few updates and features in its browsers - in fact, most advanced, modern browsers have the function to filter out the nonsense from the legitimate. Turn it on. Don't turn it off because you think it's cumbersome. How cumbersome do you think it will be, when you pull out your hair looking at your computer that refuses to turn on? Go for the medium to high security settings and watch out for rogue pop-ups and questionable download sources. Find out about a program before you start to download it from the net.

The second line of defence is the anti-virus programs. Major anti-virus programs are equipped with 24 hour redline defences, they scan and watch your activity, check your emails and scrutinize every bit of data that comes through the cyberspace pipeline down into the desktop's memory banks. They also scan every programme before they are extracted and installed. These are your guardsmen, the warriors stationed just outside your castle, checking papers and watching out for any signs of invasion. Treat it well. Constantly update it and it will be armed well to deal with anything that tries to and comes through your gates.

Check, check and recheck. I'm not saying go mental and hunch in front of your computer day in and out watching out for the elusive quarry, but once in a while have a look at the programs that are installed, do a quick scan with your software. Sometimes the human eye can see something your defensive programs cannot. Use the internet as a research tool to find out the good and bad.

Turn on your firewalls - use the exceptions utility for programmes you use and know can be trusted. This is the difference between privacy and someone from Nigeria emailing you about a chance to collect money from a lottery you have never heard of from a bank you've never seen. Or a strange contact list suddenly erupting from your messenger service inviting you over for a good time.

When all else fails, get a good remover and cleaner software. There are a lot of excellent pieces of software running around the net, dedicated to wiping out Spyware from everyone's lives. The best thing is - most of them are free and even if they cost - the price is reasonable and the results far outweigh the pittance you have to shell out. They also act as a watchful eye over the net, working together with your anti-virus software, a tag-team, a winning combination - ensuring you to be rid of Spyware forever.Author: Brian Barghout
